Midland African American Roots Historical Cultural Arts Council
Celebrating fifteen years, the Midland African American Roots Historical Arts Council, Inc. (501c3) is very excited to announce the comming of CONTRA_TIEMPO Dance Company to our area. The company is schedule to arrive in our area the first week in February for half a week of workshops and a performance of Agua-Furiosa on Saturday evening.
CONTRA_TIEMPO is a bold, multi-lingual Los Angeles based danced company fouded and directed by Ana Marie Alvarez. The company's work rooted in Salsa and Afro-Cuban culture draws from Hip-Hop, urban and contemporary dance-theater.
In order to make the project affordable to the general public, youth and senior adults, our organizations is soliciting monetary support to help underwrite the workshops and the main performance. Recent and past projects that have been successfully presented to the community include Dance Theater of Harlem ( a collaboration with Midland College & Midland Festival Ballet)d- March 2014 and Tom Braxton - August 2014. These successess are the result of generous community support.
